City of the north coast of the Dominican Republic located on the peninsula of Samaná. Originally a fishing village founded in 1946 which now houses 18,000 inhabitants of which 2,000 are French.

Today it remains an unspoilt tourist center and actually looks like a local St Tropez with luxuriant nature and white sand beaches. These were classified among the 5 best beaches in the world by a jury of international journalists.

Las Terrenas is connected since 2012 to the capital Santo Domingo by a direct highway. It is also served by an International Airport called El Catey, distant of 22 km.

A new Internet system / TV / telephone, fiber optics installed in March 2012 has optimized communications and network connection.

The main activities are tourism, trade and fishing.
